Tonight was the Private View of the Nets Textile exhibition at the TAFTA Geelong Forum, Corio. It features works by 34 Australian and UK based artists who have all made works in response to the theme of ‘Nets’. This was the first time in the duration of the four years of this project that the groups have shown together in one venue. This is a project that has impacted upon the textile careers of many people at an international level, both as makers within the group and as a viewer visiting the show.
It was exceptionally busy with fantastic feedback from visitors, on the diversity of work on show. Interesting, how we have responded with some similarities of concept whereas other works explore the cultural differences across the two hemispheres. I will be posting photographs as we progress through the week of the TAFTA Geelong Forum.
It must have been so satisfying to see everything exhibited together, We are looking ofrward to your next instalment. If you think about it do give my love to Janet. enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! x
Its good to see my work there thanks Angie, have fun x

The Exhibition looks fabulous – must have taken a lot of hard work to get it looking so effortless!
Thanks for taking my work out with you Angie. xx
Hi Jan – Thank you and your work has been much admired. Will take proper photos tomorrow afternoon. It was a struggle actually, as it was the first time the two sets of work had been shown together so there was a lot of ‘on the spot’ curation over the first two days! It is a fab gallery on campus at Forum. X
Lovely blog, Angie, especially like the ‘colours’ photos: food for the soul in a rainy England! Its a real effort these days to choose and work with brights, but all this is an inspiration. Enjoy all and be excited!

Hi Angie….It’s Bev Moxon here from Cootamundra in New South Wales.
You have a great blog! I am so pleased to see the photos from Geelong as I wasn’t able to attend and these were the first I have seen. You all did a marvelous job of putting up the exhibition. All the work looked great and I am looking forward to seeing the Cumbria work in Canberra. I was very pleased with the way my ‘Fyke Nets’ were hung. Many thanks from Bev M.
A quick note for Bev Moxon – please can you repost the fantastic comments that you made about the Nets exhibition? The WordPress app crashed and I have somehow lost the post. Many thanks, Angie.
